“There’s something in your way
And now someone is gonna pay
And if you can’t get what you want
Well, it’s all because of me”(c) The Offspring
I won’t start my opinion with something that will make someone angry again. So I’ll keep it simple and concise. When one door closes, there’s always another (there’s room for a joke about a back door))). For some reason, I remembered a stupid old TV series (Arrested Development), which had a joke about a trick in which a gay man was turned straight, and a straight man was turned gay. But let’s be objective.
Any relationship consists of many things. Tactility (hugs), support (psychological), interest in the individual (creativity, hobbies), common interests. In the case of relationships, everyday life is also added here. And it is not OK when a woman’s role is to “cook borscht” (for this we have Klopotenko). It is also “not OK” when a man is perceived as some kind of emotionless wall that always has to hold the entire universe.
Over the past few days, I have heard several points of view on this matter, the general consensus of which is that women feel more comfortable and safe in…relationships with another woman. Just as men find understanding and support in… another man. I note that this is not about sexual intercourse, but about support. And in this vein, it is always worth answering for yourself the question “what exactly do I want and what exactly do I want?” Suddenly, it may turn out that a person does not need physical contact, but rather the component that he is more likely to find among people of his own sex. Is it possible otherwise?..
Yes, it happens differently. But the statistics are not encouraging. A man who can simply support a woman (without any “plans”), as well as a woman who understands that the “wall” consists of more than just bricks, is about 1 person out of 10. At best. Other people will pull the blanket towards their needs, not noticing others.
Ask yourself what you need. Support or relationship? Of course, one does not exclude the other. But most of the false hopes are based on the fact that two people are looking for different things in each other at a particular time.
Ps I was honest with one person, and when a potential partner appeared, I wrote that I didn’t mind communicating, but in a friendly way, because there is a person who interests me in a romantic sense. They wrote to me “yes, I’m a good match for that”, and… a day later the person disappeared. This is about this…
