Projects

Jedi 2.0

In the meantime, I decided to finish my “Jedi” lighting for photos.

The project itself is old, but I still couldn’t bring it to a state where I could use it to the fullest. It is planned that I will have 4 lights (there are already 5) for each colour (yellow, green, blue, red) which will work separately. The colour of each is selected from the remote control, so there can be 2 red and 2 blue or some other composition. Each light consists of 1 meter of LED strip, aluminium profile. All this has a tripod mount, so I will choose the lighting angle myself. It will all be powered by a battery that I previously assembled, with a capacity of 240 Wh. So I will not be limited by sockets.

This is a more serious light than I used before and in the future it will give less noise in the photo. And that would be very good, considering the camera I am shooting with now.

P.S. pay attention to the second photo. How magically the light highlights the silhouette. I think I will use it. Especially if I do get more parts of the latex costume.

Attempt

Is an attempt a path to failure or skill? I don’t know…

Today I tried to weave kanekalon into a wig. Of course, trying to do it “my way”. From the side it still looks something, but I don’t really like it. It’s quite difficult to weave something with artificial hair. Although I think it’s the same with natural hair. So I postponed it until better times. I think a different approach to changing wigs is needed. This is firstly, and secondly, I still remember my desire to create my own “predator” style wig. So. This is not the end, this is just the first attempt.

I want unique images of characters that I will create myself.

Workplace update

Meanwhile, the workplace recently received an update, namely…

A couple of homemade shelves! I had some OSB left over from shelves…and a drawer under the battery…and a kitchen drawer…and a drawer for collecting money for the library (all of this was made from a couple of sheets), I decided that so that it wouldn’t lie in vain, I had to do something with it. And I always had tools lying around, no matter what. That’s how these two mini-shelves came about.

On one I have soldering equipment, which I use most often.

On the second one there are other devices like a spot welder, various connectors and tools. After I made the shelves, there was still some free space left. I didn’t decorate them especially, because.. “there is nothing more permanent than something temporary”. I am satisfied.

SPB (Simple Power Box)

My Simple Power Box is ready! ^_^

What is this?

Inside are 6 batteries, which give a total of 12 Volts and 10 Ah. That is, 120 Watt/hours of electricity (for your understanding, a standard Powerbank has 20 Watt/hours). What do I need it for? Well…with this device I can power my camera, an additional 7″ screen for the camera, as well as another device (if necessary) and shoot as much as I need.

Recently, SmallRig released a portable battery for similar purposes worth about $150. I assure you, my device costs about 1/5 of that price and…soon I will write a full post about it. As well as about another thing that I am still finalizing (I am waiting for the case). Somehow 🙂
