I thought about it. I haven’t written letters for about 25 years. It was the first in so many years. Paper.

In our digital age, a lot of information arrives instantly. You don’t have time to look back, as it has already been received on the other side of the world. Because of this, it loses its meaning and significance. Simply put, information is devalued. Because everyone is in a hurry to convey something as quickly as possible and continue doing their own things. That’s why I wanted to slow down a little. To say some important things, without rushing anywhere. Not giving thoughts the opportunity to run ahead of the train and devalue themselves. At first, I didn’t know what to write. More precisely, I knew what, but it was enough for half an A5 sheet. The further I went, the more thoughts filled me. I thought that this was exactly the case when you can say those things that you miss in ordinary communication. Without attaching importance to them. I shared about her father’s death. I shared about the events that happened to me last year. About our relationship with her. About who I am now, about why I decided to break off communication.

While writing the letter, I was looking for the perfect version of the song Personal Jesus. I meant a cover of Depeche Mode. It’s funny, but I found a cover that was similar to the cover of the band “Targany!”. I found several versions, and this is the only thing I will share here from the letter. Because no matter how you say it, letters are about personal communication. I wanted to spice up the letter with perfume. Why? This is a funny story from my youth, when I received just such a letter. It had the content that one person (a girl) was supposed to come to Odessa, and she wrote that if there was a desire, we could meet, see each other, take a walk. What’s funny about that? Because they smelled like the perfume my classmate had)))

Yakimov has a song with the words “I wrote not to wait for an answer” – and that’s exactly what it’s about. You don’t need an answer. You just want to say something that makes sense. What’s important to you.

Our communication with people is very similar to cooking. Sometimes you need to add certain spices. Sometimes you need to add some herbs. I’m talking about the fact that the level of our relationship with a person, the access we give to ourselves, and in general – all this is based on little things that we don’t notice. I want people to feel my relationship with them at their fingertips. So that every person I perceive closely feels it, and not just reads it in the symbols written in the messenger. It’s deeper. It’s more important.
