“I am not who you think I am
I will never be your Mirror
I’ve been casting out the fog
So you can read the message clearer
Am I precious now?
Do I fit your sound?
I will never be someone who breaks their back to make you proud”

Often, an idea for creativity arises when I’m riding my bike somewhere. Today I heard this song, and I caught myself thinking that I would make a new work to it. In addition to the song, I also paid attention to the flowers that were starting to wither in our yard. I’ve always loved how their orange colour contrasts with the rest of the world and… I decided to use it.

I tried using gouache, but it spread a lot, so… I turned to water-based makeup again. Or rather, not so much – it was the first time I fully used this type of makeup. I applied it to a flower and applied it to myself. I did about the same thing as before with the “kisses”, only then the source for the pattern was my own lips, and now the drying flower.

What is the idea of this work? It is that people often see us in a certain way. That is, they see us from their point of view. You could say that they see us not as we are, but as a reflection of what they want to see us as.

I myself often face the fact that I am perceived incorrectly. And they see anyone in me except for who I am – the person you see in my works.
