Previously, the genre of “romantic action movies” was very popular, where despite the shooting, the thread that stitched the whole plot was…love.
It was very strange to come across such a film now, although in fact the film has been out for 16 years. So…is it worth watching?
According to the story, Tony Ricardelli is a professional killer who is lucky in everything except, of course, love. He is an open person, and when potential partners find out about Tony’s line of work, they immediately change their minds about creating a relationship with them. But…does it matter to everyone what Tony does?
At the same time, the girl Julia, who, on the contrary, is unlucky in everything except love (for Julia, it comes down to marriage), is supposed to receive a manuscript from a famous writer (Puzzo), but he never gets to her, and she decides to visit the writer herself to bring him to the presentation of his new book. It is at this moment that Tony and Julia’s paths cross, however… there is one nuance – Tony was ordered to kill Puzzo, so he will have to improvise and play the role of the famous writer himself.
Despite the fact that the plot of the film does not have any unexpected turns and is quite straightforward, the film is interesting to watch until the last minute. There is quite a subtle humor here, which is closer to French comedies (this film is German), and which stitches together all the plot irregularities. Julia was played by Nora Czirner, known for other comedic (and not only) roles.
If you want some light comedy for the evening – I think this film will suit you. I give it 8.5 out of 10 🙂
